S is for Slade and Straight White Lines

Slade is one of my most favorite bands!i was a my grandmas and i was maybe 10?and the next door neighbor was having a garage sale.i walked over to have a look and noticed a box of vinyl records.i was looking at them and the owner guy came over to me and said do you like music?i told him i just got from Santa a record player radio tape player thing but i didn't have any records yet.he smiled and pulled out the SLADE-ALIVE
album and said here you would want this one.i asked how much and he said how much do you have on you.i had .50 cents.sold he said and i have to say it was and is one of my favorite albums and bands ever!

I have this twitter friend Neal Brooks,we have never met but have tweeted from time to time.he has a band called Straight White Lines. i love the song Outlaw!i wanted to showcase Neal and his talent.I think Neal would have a better solo career, and have added some of his solo stuff. If any record company or record producer person wants to
sign Neal do it! if i could i would sign him in a heart beat!such a talent! in fact i told him he should go on American idol!i am sure he would win!and he has a cool beard!AND ladies i think he is single (hint hint)

so i hope you will enjoy the following clips.

P is for Peter Paul & Mary

I just love Peter,Paul &Mary.they are folk singers and became one of the biggest music acts of the 1960's.I picked 3 songs. The first one "Puff the Magic Dragon" is a song dear to my heart, even one my kids favorite songs.when i listen to it i think about childhood and growing up and losing your dreams and becoming a "grown up".i never want to "grow up" the second song "Leaving on a jet plane"i really like also because when i hear it the song i think about dying and just saying goodbye to all of your loved ones.i think i would love to have it played at my funeral.also i think of when i went away from family and friends and went on a church mission for two years and the sadness i had for leaving.whatever meaning you get from it,i would be interested to know.the last one i just added because it is such a sweet song, and Peter,Paul &Mary singing it in such a beautiful way.

M is for Marcy Playground

So far i have been at 2 Marcy Playground concerts.they came to my town Idaho Falls on November 5th ?not sure the year. after the song "Sex and Candy"came out,it was an amazing show!i was lucky i had a front seat in this tiny theatre and during the show, the drummer Shlomi Lavie playfully tossed a drumstick to the lead singer John Wozniak,it bounced off of the stage and into the band pit.i was in the best spot and immediately grabbed it.later i had all of the band autograph it.i guess it is also a rare item because it has been played.and they usually only throw out new sticks.i will always cherish it.and hope to have a man cave someday,so i can proudly display it,along with all of my other rock treasures.

my second concert was a little more intimate.it was in a town Pocatello in 2009 and i was able to get front row, like i always do.it was another amazing show with all of the old hits along with songs from their fourth album Leaving Wonderland...in a fit of rage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaving_Wonderland...in_a_fit_of_rage
it was still a high energy and very fun show!if Marcy Playground ever comes to your town GO!it is alot of fun.i wasn't able to met up with the guys after that one but fun never the less! and i cannot wait until i can go to another one. if i could i would probably be the roadie for them.
